i was walking to class today and i noticed how many kids wear hooded sweatshirts, sweatpants, and running shoes around campus.  does that mean a whole bunch of them work out then go to class or go to class then straight to the gym?  or is that the typical college kid attire?  it's really not attractive to see masses of people wearing sweats.  it perpetuates the monotony and blahness.  i don't have a sweatshirt in my closet and i will not wear one.  guess, that doesn't mean people don't look good in them it's just not that interesting, especially when you pass 50 people in 10 minutes wearing the same outfit.  well, go team 8 a.m.

p.s.  here's to unexpecting the expected.

oh home...how sticky...so sleepy...now summer

thought about how i hardly spend time in hawaii anymore...everything looks seemingly the same and feels the same but is completely different.  my family is "home" not the island so much; it only has a familiarity to which i can connect to.

It's 6:17 a.m. and I'm awake, still...I have po-eh-tree class at 11.  I don't understand myself.  I should worry about my well being.  Here's a suggested listening list for a 6 o clock a.m.-er:

Radiohead (essential in every way)

Thursday

Explosions in the Sky

Spiritualized

Les Savy Fav

The Icarus Line

Autechre

I'll throw in Beck as well.

bach and mozart.  davis and coltrane.  getz and joao.

Note:  No Beyoncee, neighbors downstairs blast that thump-thumpthumpthump beat every morning!

oh yes, watch ellen in the morning on tuesdays/thursdays.

Hey!! It's 217am and i'm still up!  this is the latest i've stayed up since summer break started.  summer has been fun so far!  i'm still here in oregon going to summer school (taking psych 201).  i go home next saturday which i'm looking forward to.   i'm living in my apartment right now; my roommate (kristin) will be moving in later on in the summer.  so far i've been hanging out with my friend ausa who lives here in corvallis...she's great!! ausa was one of my roommates along with kristin this past year.  actually i got ausa to make a xanga page since i'm talking to her online! haha...her page is called AwakenThee.  i've been watching a ton of movies last night i watched 12 monkeys and Empire Records.  Tonight i watched Sweet Home Alabama and Ghostbusters.  I didn't really care for Sweet Home Alabama when i first saw it but after seeing it a second and third time i like it much better.  I'm like that sometimes, if I don't care for something the first time i'll probably like it better the second time around.  on wednesday by the way, i got my permit!! that was exciting....haha....i've had my permit before in hawaii but let it expire twice!! but i finally decided that it's time for me to learn how to drive!!  it's seems like an essential skill to know even though i'm scared.  i've only finished one book so far, i usually try to read as many books as i can while it's summer since i don't have class.  it's always different reading books for class than reading books for the fun of it.  i just finished "the last time they met" by anita shreve.  she also wrote "the pilot's wife" which was a book chosen by oprah for her book club once.  anyhow, the book was good, it was different...it started from the present and worked it's way backward to when the main character linda meets her first love thomas in high school.  there's so many books i want to read..."le divorce" "the lovely bones" "seabiscuit" "unless"  anyway, i'm getting sleepy it's almost 3 am!!!  ausa and i were thinking about seeing pirates of the caribbean tomorrow at the theater on 9th street.  i heard it's really good.  we also wanted to go to the willamette river and swim, we'll see though, the weather might not be good for that.  nighty night.
